Jennifer Ward

Director/Owner

My dream of opening an early childhood school has finally come true thanks to my family and close friends. My journey as an Early childhood educator began 23 years ago, when I accepted my first teaching position. The past 15 years I have spent in the position of Director.

I am looking forward to being here for you and your child. As Director of Tiny Explorers, my door is always open to you.  I am the Mom of three children, so I know being a parent is the toughest and most important job you will ever have. Please let me know what I can do!

My favorite part of teaching this age is watching the excitement of discovery and seeing the smiles and pride of accomplishments. I believe that every single aspect of early childhood is a learning experience. I am dedicated to fostering a positive learning environment for each child.

LeeAnn Monahan

Teacher/ Team Leader

Teaching and early education is very rewarding for me. At this age, I believe children learn best through concrete experiences. I feel children need a caring and trusting environment to learn in, so they may become successful. Building confidence in each child is very important so they can reach their full potential. My favorite part of teaching this age is the excitement of learning. For me, it is the ” little” moments…when a child zips their jacket for the first time, or when they are able to recognize their own name! Their eyes light up and they are so proud. Watching children grow while with me, is truly one of the greatest gifts!

Caitlyn Gaughan

Lead Teacher/ Assistant Admin

My name is Caitlyn Gaughan and I have over 13 years experience in early childhood education, program management, and exceptional child development. I have a bachelor’s degree in developmental psychology, coursework in ECE, and some graduate work in applied behavioral analysis, and enjoy continuing my education through trainings and CEUs. I take great pride in having a fun classroom filled singing and dancing, silliness, and laughter. I focus on the development of the whole child, not just on academic skills, but on valuable character traits learned through meaningful interactions. I provide developmentally appropriate, educational, and play-based learning opportunities, where I promote the use of skill-based learning, to help children think critically, learn to solve problems, and become more independent.

It is my belief that children learn best through play and social interactions with others, and it is my goal in the toddler classroom to help children nurture their independence and self-help skills through problem solving and diverse experiences, so that they may gain confidence and pride in themselves while making friends and having fun.

Erica Lawson

Teacher

Over the past several years teaching has become such a huge part of my life.I look

forward to walking through the door each day ready to discover something new with my

students. I enjoy getting to know each child in my room and being able to teach, and

care for them is something that I do not take for granted. I love watching a child

complete an activity such as a puzzle by themselves and seeing the pride they have in

what they have just done. I enjoy teaching this age of students because their curiosity

and eagerness to learn inspires me daily. Watching children learn, play, have fun and

laugh while in the classroom is the very reason I wanted to become a teacher. I believe

in the quote “If you love what you do you will never work a day in your life”, while

teaching I truly feel that.
